Suite of 6 colette gueden chairs, chic, elegant and timeless, colette gueden's name and work are closely associated with primavera, the design studio of the printemps chain of stores. Born in 1905 in indochina. In 1923, colette gueden entered the ecole des beaux-arts in saint-etienne where she graduated three years later. In 1927 in paris, she worked as a designer at primavera alongside claude lévy, gisèle favre and madeleine sougez. His style can be placed under the heading "fantasy". This "fantasy" applies brilliantly to all projects: wallpapers, jewelry, ornaments and especially ceramics. In the 50s, colette gueden was able to adapt easily to new trends and was surrounded by a team of young designers coming out of art school: alain le foll, geneviève pons, peter broc, who helped organize small fairs in spring (from 1950 to 1967) on various topics "plein air", "printemps galot", "alcôve". Gueden colette made ceramic drawings created elsewhere by pol chambost, the workshops of vallauris or those of limoges. She also received prestigious commissions: she designed furniture for president vincent auriol, for the liner la marseillaise (1949), she created large bas-reliefs decorated with still lifes. Colette gueden worked at primavera until 1972., the chairs are in their state of use, some stains on the seats in skai, the structures are 60 / 70 years old with some oxidations, good general condition.
