This trio of vintage seats reflects the charm of French café furniture from the 20th century. They are stamped underneath "Baumann". A manufacturer established in 1901 in Colombier-Fontaine, Doubs, by Émile Baumann, a Swiss passionate about woodworking. This visionary entrepreneur aimed to democratise quality furniture at a time when furniture was either very expensive or of poor quality. Baumann offered elegant, sturdy, and accessible seating. Steam-bent wood became the company's specialty. This revolutionary method allows for the creation of smooth, natural curves without weakening the wood's structure. In fact, this is exactly what gives Baumann chairs their recognisable silhouette, with clean lines and organic shapes. Over the decades, the manufacturer developed a whole range of models, each with its own personality. This model clearly showcases the use of the traditional bent wood technique, as well as the small curved backs that conform to the shape of the back, ensuring optimal comfort. Its natural patinated wood finish adds warmth and character to any space. Solid and comfortable, these chairs can be used in a kitchen, dining room, café, bar, or brasserie. Items sold as they are, with visible signs of wear in the photos.
