Vintage Two polychrome earthenware plates decorated with stylized flowers and shells Marked Paul Fouillen Quimper under the base, signed Maurice Fouillen in the decoration Period: circa 1960 Dimensions: diameter 24 cm, weight 2.8 kg Good condition Ref adequantik 2109761 40 Paul Fouillen (1899-1958), French ceramic artist. After studying at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Rennes, he became a potter in the HB factory in Quimper in 1922. Paul discovered the Breton artistic world, notably through the Seiz Breur creators' movement. He launched his own factory in Quimper in 1929. After the Second World War, Maurice, his son, joined the family business and continued his father's work until 1980. There is a Fouillen museum open since 1956.
