Richard for the Loetz glassworks. Single flower vase in multi-layer glass etched with acid. Decor of violet flowers on a turquoise background. 1920s. Height: 23cm. Very good condition. *RICHARD, a brand of the Loetz glassworks (1836-1947) produced in the 1920s for France (Austria). It is the famous Loetz Witwe glassworks, located at the time in Klostermühle in South Bohemia, that produced vases signed "RICHARD" between 1920 and 1929. The multi-layer glass pieces featured floral decorations or landscapes of Central or Mediterranean Europe in bright colours. These productions were intended for export, particularly to France. Documents found attest to the importation of these "RICHARD" glasses by a store, specialising in decorative objects, named J. Jouve, located at 21 Rue de Paradis in Paris. This complementary range was distributed by "Cristaux d’Art Richard, Société Ed. ETLING manufacturer" located at 158 ter Rue du Temple in Paris.
