Brazilian brutalist footstools with patchwork leather, 1960. this mid-century brazilian brutalist style patched leather sofa was created by a group of young brazilian designers who created some of the most extraordinary furniture in the 1960s and 1970s, using traditional materials and techniques with a forward-thinking, relaxed attitude. The design of the ottomans is in the style of mid-century modern designers such as jean gillon, percival lafer and sergio rodrigues. The footstools are hand made and have an all wood frame supporting a very thick leather sling seat, stitched with gaucho style leather laces. The cushions have come loose on the bottom and are in a used condition, see the photos. Furthermore, the footstools are very nice to place next to each other as a bench.
