Stellar diamond faceted sommerso bowl by alessandro mandruzzato (murano), italy, 1970s. Extremely decorative. Can be used as a bowl, catch-all/vide-poche, ashtray or just as a decorative object on any table. Colours: blue, yellow and clear. Width: 10.5 cm; depth: 9 cm; height: 5.5 cm. The bowl is in excellent vintage condition, without any mini chips / flea bites, which is rare. "sommerso" (italian for ''submerged'') is a technique developed in murano in the 1930s which became very popular in the 1950s-70s. The result is a glass with contrasting colours that is commonly cased by a clear layer.
