curved wooden armchair (Cambier or Carton) around 1900.

Magnificent curved wooden armchair from the early last century. Unfortunately, it does not have a label, and while everything about it recalls the craftsmanship of the legendary Thonet brand, it is more likely of Belgian origin, from the Cambier or Carton brand (thanks to Claude for his expertise). It comes from the same bourgeois residence in 94 from which several of my currently for sale pieces are drawn. Our armchair is an antique model, with a "old century" elegance. Light and discreet, it still has its original caning, which is in very good condition. The backrest is particularly minimalist and highlights the armrests topped with a similarly shaped wood (again, no straight lines in this piece). It is very elegant and can support the weight of a person weighing 90 kilos without flinching. There are some signs of wear, a slight misalignment on a screw of one armrest (see photo), but these are very minor. Stable and solid, it is in excellent condition. H: 90 cm. W: 54 cm. D: 50 cm. Seat height: 47 cm.
