Fire screen, three-panel fireplace screen.

This beautiful fire screen, composed of three elegant panels with lovely curves at the top, will magnificently adorn a fireplace. The frame is made of gold metal, probably brass. The side panels are hinged and can therefore fold to adjust the fire screen to different fireplace widths. It is to be adopted as is, with its patina, the patina of time and use, but you can also polish it with fine steel wool (and elbow grease) to restore shine to the gold metal. It is difficult to date, perhaps from the 1950s or 60s; it is a rather quality piece, the grilles are quite rigid, they are embedded in the brass profile, and not just welded to the back of the frame. It is in very good structural condition, solid, with grilles without holes, the parts move well relative to each other, but it does not hide its age: patinated metal with various marks and stains (soot, corrosion). A small foot (to be screwed) is missing at the back; I replaced it with two washers and a nut since it is not excessively visible in that spot, but this piece is probably available at a DIY store. The central panel measures 52 cm in width and 52 cm in maximum height, while the side panels measure 23 cm in width and 45 cm in maximum height. Almost fully unfolded (it is obviously not used fully unfolded as it is very unstable), this fire screen measures 90 cm in width.
