This handcrafted sculptural ceramic wall piece from the 1980s is a striking example of abstract studio ceramics. The object captivates with its organic forms and a deep brown, metallic-looking glaze that lends the piece exceptional depth. The ceramic construction features a relief-like structure with a central braided or layered section, framed by two smooth, undulating surfaces. The reverse side is signed and dated 1983, underscoring its authenticity and artisanal origin. An integrated wire hanger allows for direct wall mounting. The artwork is in very good condition, featuring an intact surface. On the reverse side, there is a small chip and a stress crack—both resulting from the production process—which are completely invisible from the front. This wall sculpture integrates beautifully into interiors styled in the Brutalist or Organic Modern aesthetic. It creates a strong textural accent on the wall and harmonizes particularly well with natural materials such as wood and stone.
