Delicately crafted and hand-painted in shades of orange and brown, these wall sconces truly embody the mid-century studio pottery aesthetic—whether hung individually or as an interconnected ensemble with various arrangement options. The sconces were designed by Traudl Brunnquell, an award-winning design director at Brunnquell GmbH in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, from 1961 to 1978. A single bulb forms the centre of an extended square section, flanked by two smaller sections along a central axis. The organic decorations on the front, along with the reflective orange and brown glaze, soften the appearance and transform these wall sconces into West German studio art. All four are in very good condition, although one sconce has a chipped end at the back (see photos). They are currently wired for European E17 bulbs but can be easily rewired for American installation. We highly recommend using mirrored gold bulbs for optimal effect!
