The aesthetics of the essential. I present to you this magnificent tripod chair made of solid wood with a rye straw seat, originating from the Nice region (early 20th century). A true testament to French folk art, this piece embodies the perfect balance between rural functionality and sculptural power. A manifesto of Brutalist and Wabi-Sabi style. This chair fits into the major trend of current design: Wabi-Sabi. This Japanese concept celebrates the beauty of imperfect, ephemeral, and authentic things. Far from industrial perfection, this chair derives its charm from its irregularities: Raw wood work: Legs and stretchers with organic shapes, respecting the natural line of the branch. "Shovel" backrest: A strong, clean vertical line that gives it the appearance of a modern sculpture. Patina of time: The wood bears the marks of its history, a depth that only a century of use can offer. Unlike contemporary copies, this model is an authentic piece of craftsmanship. This chair has its own nuances, its small scars in the wood, and its weathered weaving. The slight imperfections (visible in the photos) only enhance its soul and unique character; they testify to an object that has lived and has traversed the ages without losing its splendour. I offer three other chairs from the same origin, each with its own particularity. Folk Art from the Nice region, early 20th century.
