Soup tureen with lid Lou Basquez manufacture Saint-Amand

I am selling this lovely soup tureen with its lid from the Saint-Amand factory, Lou Basquez collection. An elegant piece that will add a refined touch to your table. Very popular at French tables in the 1930s. The number 89 engraved in relief or stamped in black: This is an internal code of the factory. It generally indicates the shape number of the plate (its mould) or the number of the worker/moulder, facilitating production tracking. The small red mark on the left: This is a painter's or decorator's mark. As the Basque decorations were hand-painted on the earthenware, each painter would add their own small colour or letter to account for their pieces at the end of the day.
