Ritual and sculptural object, steeped in history. This solid brass candlestick is a unique piece, crafted through traditional artisanal methods by an ethnic group from Chad. Brought back several decades ago, it bears witness to an ancient know-how where material, use, and symbolism converge. The object was designed from the casings of old war rifles, salvaged, melted down, and then entirely reworked by hand. This transformation of military elements into a domestic and decorative object gives this candlestick a strong dimension: that of the reappropriation of material, from weapon to object of light. Every visible mark — hammering, irregularity, patina — is intentional and inseparable from its authenticity. Nothing is standardised. No equivalent piece exists. A sculptural presence. With its three vertical branches and almost totemic shape, this candlestick transcends its simple utilitarian function. It asserts itself as a decorative sculpture, at the intersection of tribal art, brutalism, and wabi-sabi. Its significant weight and solid brass give it a stable and assertive presence, ideal for staging on a coffee table, console, pedestal, or in an architect's interior.
