colonial explorer hat

This pretty colonial hat would be perfect hanging on the wall, for a “jungle” decor. For me it evokes the hats of explorers and adventurers in the successful films of my youth! It probably dates from the 60s, it does not have a ventilation hole with a metal ring like more recent hats. It is woven wicker underneath and straw (banana leaf?) on top, all held together with stitches. It features an adjustable collar. I carefully cleaned it of all the dust accumulated over decades, with a soft brush and a little water then dried it well. It is in good general condition but does not hide its age: a few various traces, the small upper central part was missing. I filled this gap by recovering small pieces from the clamp and the inner headband which are made of the same material. It measures 32 cm by 26 cm for a height of approximately 16 cm. It weighs approximately 60 g.
