This pretty colonial hat would be perfect hanging on the wall, even more in a collection, for a “jungle” decor. For me it evokes the hats of explorers and adventurers in the successful films of my youth! It probably dates from the 60s, it does not have a ventilation hole with a metal ring like more recent hats. It is made of woven wicker underneath (structure), covered with plant strips above (bamboo?), all held together with stitches. Inside, it has a sort of rattan frame (attached to the hat with a sort of pink bolduc, certainly not original) which allows it to adjust to all head sizes. When I found it it was a little dusty, I cleaned it carefully and delicately. It is in good general condition but does not hide its age: there remain a few tiny stains, a small loss on a slat on the central circle, a few cover slats have torn at the edge seam and are therefore lifting slightly. It measures 39 cm in diameter with a height of approximately 20 cm. It weighs approximately 100 g. I offer another colonial hat, if you wish to order both, do not hesitate to contact me to negotiate prices and for me to adjust the shipping costs for a combined shipment.
