Ashtray in solid crystal illustrating the craftsmanship of French crystal makers from the 1970s-1980s. This piece is a testament to the artisanal excellence of crystal cutting and the refinement of table arts from that era. DESCRIPTION Circular ashtray in remarkable quality crystal, featuring a rich and complex cut. The decoration multiplies geometric patterns: at the centre, a starry medallion surrounded by checkerboard crosshatches, framed by panels with vertical stripes alternating with radiating fans. The outer edge is finely scalloped and has four notches designed to hold cigarettes. The crystal, with perfect transparency, has substantial weight and beautifully captures light through its multiple facets. Each angle of view reveals new plays of prismatic reflections. DIMENSIONS Outer diameter: 12.5 cm. Inner diameter: 9 cm. Height: 4.5 cm. CONDITION Excellent condition. Crystal perfectly transparent with no chips, cracks, or scratches. The cut is sharp and precise. Original brilliance preserved. CONTEMPORARY USE Beyond its primary function, this object now finds multiple decorative uses: a jewellery tray, a bowl for sweets or chocolates, a candle holder, or simply a decorative collectible. The light effects it produces make it a decorative piece in its own right. Price: €25.
