"I may owe my being a painter to flowers." - Claude Monet The painting is old and dates from the 1940s-50s. Oil painting, the style is academic realism, in the tradition of floral still lifes that were so appreciated in the first half of the 20th century, with a bohemian and poetic touch. A signature is visible at the bottom right. The period wooden frame covered with a textured ivory white patina is typical of French frames from the 1930s-1960s. A small discreet hole is visible in the photo. Signs of use are visible in the photo on the frame. 64cm by 45cm for the canvas, 77cm by 59cm for the frame, 4.5cm thick. Visible in Colmar, delivery possible upon request.
