An exceptionally beautiful vase crafted using the ‘Sommerso’ technique.

An exceptionally beautiful vase crafted using the ‘Sommerso’ technique, in which the green core is encased in a solid, transparent crystal glass outer layer. It is a Disc vase (due to its shape), measuring 13 cm in height, 13 cm in width and just 3 cm in depth, and it weighs a full 1005 grams (which is a considerable amount for its size) It has been extremely difficult to produce and is 100% certainly handmade and mouth-blown, with a slightly recessed opening and a completely flat, faceted base. It bears a ‘signature, number or similar beneath the base’, which appears to have been inscribed with a diamond pen after polishing, but we simply cannot identify the maker. EVERYTHING points to Murano from the mid-20th century (technique, shape, weight, etc.) Incredibly decorative regardless of who made it, and undoubtedly a piece of very high quality. In superb condition with no chips, cracks or other flaws, showing only minimal wear. Will be securely packed and sent with insurance
