Rare pair of 2-light sconces from the second half of the nineteenth. The taste for the far east began around 1860. Europe discovers japanese culture during the universal exhibition of 1867. The fashion of japonism is at its peak with the universal exhibition of 1878. This pair of sconces is a testimony of this time. The central part is decorated with the face of an old japanese man, he is bearded. The arms of light are decorated with acanthus leaves and windings. Bronze fabrication.
