Scandinavian modernist oak sideboard, 1940s Denmark.

Scandinavian modernist oak sideboard, 1940s Denmark. An elegant oak sideboard from the early period of Scandinavian modernism, most likely a unique, handcrafted piece dating back to 1947, as indicated by a handwritten pencil inscription underneath. Made from solid oak and oak veneer, the sideboard features a clean, architectural design with vertically detailed doors, brass fittings and a distinctive raised base that gives the cabinet a subtle floating appearance. The combination of simple lines, carefully considered proportions and warm oak tones is characteristic of early Scandinavian modernist furniture. Behind the doors, the interior offers practical storage with height-adjustable shelves. The top has been professionally re-veneered and refinished, while the rest of the cabinet remains in very beautiful vintage condition, retaining its original character and a lovely natural patina developed over the years. A well-crafted and possibly one-of-a-kind piece that combines understated modernist design with traditional craftsmanship. Measurements: Height: 89.5 cm Width: 203 cm Depth: 46.5
