Bowl signed by Antoine Dubois, Montoise ceramics from the 1930s–40s.

Antique decorative ceramic dish from Montois, numbered and signed by Antoine Dubois, who died in 1949, produced during the interwar period. Round and quite deep in shape, composed of five notches, with incised and glazed decoration in blue, brown, and beige featuring naive and symbolic iconography, depicting an infant swaddled in a cradle topped with a stylised flower of protective value, a recurring motif in regional folk art. The presence of five notches and the decoration suggest an object with symbolic intent, possibly a decorative plate for a child or a gift for a birth or baptism. Incised signature Dubois, numbered S.12. Dating: 1930s–1940s. Diameter 17 cm, height 4.5 cm, weight 695 g. Very good condition.
