Two beard plates in earthenware – Moustiers and East of France – 19th century. Set consisting of two beard plates in earthenware, with typical notched shapes, intended for shaving use. The first, of beautiful dimensions, features a polychrome decoration in the style of Moustiers, with an elegant central bird surrounded by floral scrolls and small insects. The rim is highlighted with a green line. The second, more understated, offers a stylised floral decoration with an ochre garland and foliage, reminiscent of production from the East of France. The backs show signs of old use, with hanging systems and handwritten inscriptions, including a later mention "Dvx Moustiers Fait main." Dimensions. Large model (Moustiers): approximately 28 X 22 cm – height 8 cm. Second model: approximately 23 X 23 cm – height 8 cm. Condition. Used condition for these antique pieces: Small losses at the edges.
