Antique dish in fine earthenware from the Jules Vieillard & Cie factory in Bordeaux, model Birds, dating from the 19th century. Very pretty monochrome red decoration depicting two birds surrounded by flowers and vegetation, on an ivory background. Beautifully shaped, wavy oval form with a lovely old patina. Stamped on the back JV & Cie – Bordeaux – Birds. Shows signs of age and a slight crazing of the glaze, characteristic of its antiquity. Dimensions: 25 × 13 cm.
