Superb vase signed by Alain Maunier, Vallauris, circa 1955–1965. Created during the great creative period of Vallauris, when many artists settled in the region after the arrival of Pablo Picasso, this vase perfectly illustrates the revival of French art ceramics in the post-war era. Alain Maunier is part of that generation of ceramists who contributed to the reputation of Vallauris alongside creators like Roger Capron and Jean Derval. This model features: A finely incised geometric decoration A superb turquoise glaze with celadon and deep blue nuances An elegant contrast with a dark brown background Glossy black glazed interior Handwritten signature under the base The colours are particularly successful, with a vibrant and nuanced glaze, well above the more classic productions of the workshop. Height: 10.5 cm Condition: very good overall condition, no restoration, small visible firing defect on the neck in the photos. An ideal piece for mid-century decoration, vintage 50s, or Vallauris collection. Authentic and signed object.
