Lisa Johansson-Pape senator lamp brass and leather 1950

This beautiful lamp was designed by lisa johansson-pape for orno oy in finland in 1947. Our example is a first edition from the early 1950s. It has a brass base, its stem wrapped in light brown leather, and its shade painted a beautiful mocha brown. The shade is a very innovative design for its time, which earned lisa johansson-pape many design awards including in italy in the 1950s, and allows the light to diffuse evenly upwards and downwards. It has been fully cleaned and restored, electrified, and is in superb condition. The shade and leather have a beautiful patina. The dimensions include the shade.
