We are delighted to offer for sale this superb pair of mahogany accent chairs from Honduras dating from the late Victorian era, featuring finely carved hairy lion paw feet. These chairs are of exceptional quality; the wood was extremely expensive originally and was imported notably by Gillows of Lancaster. The feet are particularly remarkable in this piece, as it is very rare to find hairy lion paw feet on a chair. The backrest showcases subtle yet sublime carvings with an almost Scottish influence. They have been cleaned, waxed, and polished from top to bottom. The upholstery is beautifully aged damask, naturally showing some signs of patina due to age and use. Dimensions: Height: 93.5 cm, Width: 45.5 cm, Depth: 46 cm, Seat Height: 47 cm. All measurements are taken at the widest point. Please note that for original vintage pieces, such as a leather seat, there will always be a natural patina in the form of creases and wear. It is recommended to wax annually to prevent moisture loss; additionally, hand-dyed leather should not be exposed directly to sunlight for long periods as it can dry out and fade.
