Oval low vase with handles in glazed ceramic, 20th century

Oval-shaped enamelled vase. Featuring two small side handles integrated into the body, it presents a soft and organic line, halfway between a utilitarian object and a decorative sculpture. The exterior is animated by an enamel with deep shades blending warm browns, aubergine, purples, and amber touches, marked by vertical drips that testify to a skilled and expressive workshop technique. The interior contrasts elegantly with an intense, luminous turquoise green enamel, adding freshness and depth to the whole. The unsigned piece has its firing points visible under the base, indicating a workshop firing and complete glazing. The slight variations in hue, micro-irregularities, and nuances in the drips contribute fully to the charm of this ceramic. In good vintage condition, with slight signs of use and fine marks of time, particularly glazing defects inside and on the edge of one of the two handles (see photos). Dimensions: length 18 cm, height 9 cm, width 8 cm. Opening: 13 cm long by 4.5 cm wide. This vase could also be repurposed as a pencil or brush holder or as an elegant utensil pot on a worktop.
