This low oval-shaped vase immediately captivates with the richness of its glazing and the balance of its silhouette. Featuring two small side handles integrated into the body, it presents a soft and organic line, straddling the line between a utilitarian object and a decorative sculpture. The exterior is animated by a glaze of deep hues blending warm browns, aubergine, purples, and amber touches, adorned with vertical drips that testify to a skilled and expressive workshop technique. The interior contrasts elegantly with an intense, luminous turquoise green glaze, adding freshness and depth to the whole. The unsigned piece has visible firing points under the base, indicating a workshop firing and complete glazing. The slight variations in shade, micro-irregularities, and nuances in the drips contribute fully to the charm of this ceramic, conceived as a unique piece rather than a strictly standardised object. In good vintage condition, with slight signs of use and fine marks of time, notably glazing defects inside and on the edge of one of the two handles (see photos). Dimensions: length 18 cm, height 9 cm, width 8 cm. Opening: 13 cm long by 4.5 cm wide. This vase could also be repurposed as a pencil or brush holder, or as an elegant utensil pot on a worktop. A wabi-sabi aesthetic, a bold palette!
