High-Back Armchair from the 17th Century - Louis XIV - Solid Dutch Oak. Rare ceremonial armchair in solid oak, Dutch craftsmanship from the late 17th century (High Renaissance). Unlike upholstered models, this armchair is entirely made of wood, with a full oak backrest and seat, giving it an exceptional sculptural presence. It is an authentic testament to the prestigious furniture of Northern Europe from the Louis XIV period. Details of carpentry and sculpture: Material: Solid oak with a dark and deep natural patina. Seat & Backrest: Entirely in oak, highlighting the wood grain and the robustness of the construction. Base: The four legs are connected by an "H" stretcher with turned balusters (twists), typical of the Baroque style. Armrests: Wide, curved armrests ending in superbly sculpted volutes. Assembly: Traditional craftsmanship entirely pinned with visible dowels (ensuring its period authenticity). Dimensions: Total height: 94.50 cm. Overall width: 85 cm. Seat height: 43 cm. Seat depth: 45.50 cm. Condition: Magnificent condition for a piece from the 17th century. The structure is perfectly stable and very heavy. The wood shows the normal marks of its great age, which add to its charm and authenticity. Old traces of wood-boring insects have been treated.
