Louis XIII Walnut Armoire – 17th Century. Important Louis XIII armoire in solid walnut, opening with two richly moulded doors adorned with diamond-point panels and geometric rosettes. This piece features a powerful and balanced architecture, characteristic of French furniture from the late 17th century. The doors are enhanced with relief-carved panels, alternating diamond patterns and radiant rosettes, framed by wide, deep mouldings. The uprights are highlighted by long keyholes and forged iron fittings, adding an elegant touch of authenticity. The overhanging cornice and moulded base resting on ball feet reinforce the monumental aspect of this beautiful regional armoire. The interior has been later fitted with a wardrobe and shelves to meet contemporary needs while preserving its antique character. The walnut displays a superb warm patina with honey and dark brown hues, highlighting the natural grain of the wood. Condition: Very good overall condition. Healthy and stable structure.
