Vintage barbotine planter

Planter pot of beautiful dimensions, in excellent condition. Its decoration of flowers and plants is made in slipware. The colour palette is soft, ranging from green to mauve, including pink. Dimensions: 31 X 20 cm. Height: 14.5 cm. It is marked underneath with a serial number from production. There is no stamp from the manufacturing company. However, it can be assumed that it is a production from Saint-Clément Lunéville. In ceramics and pottery, slip is clay paste diluted in water. The slip decoration involves adding slip reliefs to pottery, and the pottery decorated in this way is called "slipware." Besides these decorations, slip has multiple uses in pottery such as assembling elements, pouring clay into a mould, or applying colours onto a clay base.
