Desk "Kit series" model 6065 designed by Gilles Bouchez for Airborne, French design, circa 1960. Structure in chrome-plated steel formed by 2 inverted U shapes held together by 3 screwed tubes (the screws are not prominent, adding to the desk's charm). The desk features a suspended black lacquered wooden drawer supported by metal brackets. The drawer has a lock, but unfortunately, the key is missing. The whole is topped with a smoked glass "securit" top. The desk is in good condition. It shows some signs of wear: slight pitting on the steel, minor wear on the edges of the drawer, and micro-scratches on the top. Airborne is an internationally renowned publisher. The KIT series is part of a search for modularity and rationalisation of furniture. Graduating in architecture in 1967, Gilles Bouchez is still active in Paris.
