Mid-19th Century Sofa, 1850s

We present you this sofa with a wooden, painted black frame with an upholstered seat, backrest, and armrests. This piece of furniture likely dates to the mid-19th century. The side profiles and the lower and upper frames of the backrests are adorned with a semi-plastic ornament. The side frames of the backrests, the arm supports, and the sofa legs are turned and fluted. The central section of the backrest is crowned with a solid carving featuring a motif of flowers and a harp. The sofa is in its original state and in very good condition, with a mark visible after gluing on one rail. The fabric is velour-type upholstery. The upholstery is secondary but in good condition.
