Louis XVI period canapé – Model with eel heads – Carved walnut
Three-seater Louis XVI canapé, known as 'with eel heads', in carved walnut, 18th century. The backrest features a characteristic triple wave topped with a central medallion carved with a radiating floral motif, surrounded by laurel leaves. The armrests end in carved eel heads, a distinctive element of this model. The legs are tapered and fluted, adorned with rosettes at the knees, typical of the Louis XVI ornamental repertoire. The wood displays a golden-brown patina with signs of authentic wear. The entire piece has been fully restored. The upholstery has been redone in "white" with black upholstery nails. The price includes the provision of the final fabric, to be addressed to the seller prior to the upholsterer. Dimensions: H. 102 cm – W. 200 cm – D. 50 cm. Weight: 50 kg. Delivery not included.
