This refined Art Deco lidded jar was designed by Einar Luterkort and produced by Upsala-Ekeby between 1932 and 1938. The Swedish stoneware piece features a soft celadon green glaze with a subtle tonal shift, creating depth and a luminous surface that changes gently with the light. The cylindrical body is adorned with horizontal, softly undulating bands, giving it a sculptural yet restrained presence typical of Scandinavian Art Deco design. The fitted lid is crowned with a contrasting glossy black loop handle, enhancing the rare celadon-and-black color combination. The underside is impressed with '2283A' and 'Ekeby'. Dimensions: approximately 14 cm in height and 11.5 cm in diameter. Originally used as a tobacco container in early 20th-century Sweden, it now serves beautifully as decorative storage. Condition: Good, with two small chips on the rim, one minor chip approximately 2 cm below the rim, one small chip on the lid, and another on the foot ring, consistent with its age of nearly 100 years.
