Superb lidded pot in handcrafted earthenware, signed on the bottom "Jodpa – Martres", from the workshops of Martres-Tolosane (Haute-Garonne), one of the key places of French popular pottery. Each piece from this manufacturer is entirely hand-painted, making it a unique and characterful object. The decoration is very generous: bouquets of polychrome flowers (pink, cobalt blue, orange, green) arranged in garlands all around the body and on the lid, set against a pristine white background, highlighted by a characteristic cobalt blue border. The lid's knob is glazed in a deep marbled blue, very elegant. The shape of the body is slightly curved, typical of the Martres style. The base is made of unglazed terracotta around the edge, with a handwritten signature, attesting to the artisanal authenticity of the piece. The interior is glazed white, without any chips. It can be used as a spice jar, jam pot, cotton/Q-tip holder, or simply as a decorative piece on a shelf or in the kitchen. Ideal for Provençal, French countryside, or Mediterranean decor. Lidded pot in very good condition. Approximate dimensions: 16.5 cm in height (with lid), 8.5 cm in diameter. Fast and careful shipping.
