A hand-embroidered cushion cover made from pure silk threads, featuring an abstract and dreamlike composition that evokes a stylised landscape, with overlapping mountains, a schematised fir tree, and a dominant large spiral that could represent a swirling moon or sun. The aesthetic recalls the expressionist landscapes of Paul Klee or modern stained glass, with its coloured planes outlined in black lines. The palette is rich and varied: deep purple, orange, golden yellow, powder pink, fir green, pale blue, ochre, beige, and touches of brick red. Each plane is woven in a different shade, creating a vibrant chromatic mosaic. The silk captures light differently depending on the angle, giving the piece a changing brilliance that brings the composition to life. The technique remains that of Aari embroidery from Kashmir, executed with a crochet hook, but here repurposed to reproduce a modern art motif rather than traditional floral compositions. Each piece requires dozens of hours of manual work and constitutes a unique textile object, closer to a work of art than a standard decorative cushion. The size of 48 X 48 cm, slightly more generous than the standard, gives even more presence to the composition. The piece will find its place in an arty interior, in a library, a studio, or as a centrepiece on a minimalist sofa that allows it to breathe. Features.
