Artistic Murano platter manufactured in the 1960s, Italian production. A stunning, hand-formed sommerso platter made of Venetian Murano glass in an intense, fiery shade of red. Its fluid, organic lines and subtle colour transitions from ruby depth to transparent edges create an effect of three-dimensional lightness and brilliance. Each piece of this type was created through a process of hand-blowing and layered colour sinking (sommerso technique), making each form unique. Perfect as a centrepiece – a sculptural decoration for a table, chest of drawers or console. A collectible example of classic Italian art glass with exceptional expression and elegance.
