Murano glass vase decorated with blue and white lines, featuring a double black glass rim at the neck. An electrical fitting has been added to convert it into a lamp. The Fratelli Toso glassworks was founded in Murano in 1854 by six brothers: Angelo (1823-1892), Carlo (1831-1881), Ferdinando (1830-1902), Gregorio (1835-1897), and Liberato Toso (1837-1890). Initially focused on classic creations inspired by Venetian tradition, the company, under the influence of the founders' heirs, shifted towards more modern pieces during the 20th century, collaborating with international designers. Fratelli Toso regularly participates in the Venice Biennale as well as several World Expositions, notably those in Brussels in 1910, 1935, and 1958, receiving multiple awards. In the 1980s, following a disagreement between two heirs, the company was split into two parts: Antica Vetreria Fratelli Toso and Fratelli Toso 1854 International, which quickly went bankrupt. Today, Galleria Fratelli Toso holds an important collection of historical pieces from over a century of creation. Light marks on the lampshade. Electrical system in working condition. Good condition.
