Museum cylinder secretary from the end of the 20th century made after the office of the cabinetmaker riesener for king louis XV. This piece of furniture was finely executed in walnut, amaranth, rosewood marquetry, as well as many other noble woods in order to give birth to all the antique scenes that cover this masterpiece on the 4 sides and the top. The finely chiseled and gilded bronze ornaments are abundant, giving this exceptional piece a very particular elegance and luxury. The french varnish is applied in the traditional way. The top of the openwork gallery is topped with prosperity urns, and two large torchères with putti with five arms of light each. The cylinder opens onto a splendid interior theater in marquetry with a sliding writing surface. The curved sides of the desk are decorated with large gilded caryatids. The abundantly arched feet are shod with clogs. The original is the most famous piece of french furniture from the 18th century. As for this piece of furniture, it was acquired by its former owners in paris in a large gallery selling decorative furniture around the 1990s. Dimensions: h170 X 194 X 90, weight approximately 200 kg.
