Elegant mirror with shaped parcloses, typical of the rococo style. The frame, made of carved wood and gilded with gold leaf, features rich ornamentation of great finesse, showcasing the craftsmanship of the period. The pediment is crowned with three stylised flowers, delicately carved, topped with a central relief shell, an emblematic decorative motif of the rococo style. This shell is framed by sinuous volutes and ribbed acanthus leaves, gracefully unfolding along the surround, giving the whole piece a characteristic Louis XV dynamic that is both vegetal and asymmetrical. The parcloses, framing the central mirror, enhance the lightness and sophistication of the piece, while highlighting the original patinated gilding, subtly accentuated by the interplay of reliefs and shadows. This mirror embodies French decorative elegance, at the intersection of aristocratic refinement and late baroque exuberance. It is an ideal collector's item for enthusiasts of antique furniture, traditional gilding, and rococo ornamentation. ******** Period: Mid 19th century. Some alterations to the silvering and minor spots are present, without detracting from the charm of this antique piece. (see photos) Delivery possible in France and internationally. Dimensions: Height: 90 cm. Width: 53 cm. Depth: 5 cm. Reference: 423V.
