Magnificent and iconic floor lamp by Jacques Adnet for Valenti. Spain, 1960s. A rare piece from this fabulous French designer, for this famous Spanish manufacturer. All brass structure. Conical base, providing real stability. The lampshade tilts through a ball joint. Original foot switch. Labels still present on the base as well as under the switch. Height 148 cm. Width 60 cm. Depth 24 cm. Excellent condition. Only one small mark on the base, nothing significant, see photos. Homogeneous and original patina. No oxidation. Jacques Adnet: In the 1920s and 1930s, Adnet established himself as a major figure in the Art Deco movement. His association with the Hermès house marked a decisive turning point in his career, allowing him to develop his famous style that combines leather and metal. At the head of the Compagnie des Arts Français, Adnet continued to push the boundaries of design with creations that blend elegance, modernity, and functionality. Among the designers on his team were prominent figures such as François Jourdain, Charlotte Perriand, and Georges Jouve. In the 1950s, he dedicated himself to furniture design and received numerous commissions, including the decoration of the private apartments of the French president at the Élysée and the meeting room of UNESCO's Paris headquarters.
