Planta coat rack by Giancarlo Piretti for Castelli, 1970

Beige coat rack designed by Giancarlo Piretti for Castelli during the 70s. Each of its 6 hooks hinge to disappear into the main pole just like the 2 rings hidden in the lower part which when rotated become umbrella holders. A housing provided in the tulip base to position the tip of the umbrella allows water to drain away. The plastic structure rests on a weighted concrete base which ensures great stability. Used condition, note a crack at the base. Stamped under the base. Dimensions. Diameter 38cm. Height 170cm.
