Very elegant Empire-style card cabinet made of solid mahogany, dating from the early 20th century. Of very fine craftsmanship, it is in superb condition. The beautiful cornice in solid mahogany gives it all its majesty, and these high-end models were often used in notary offices or in executive offices. To access the contents of the 8 boxes, you need to unlock the skirting board on the right, which then releases the edge of the boxes, allowing them to be removed. The period lock works perfectly with a key. Each box is covered in dark green morocco leather. The fronts are gilded with a small iron on the edges and numbered in Roman numerals. Notably, the lion-head pull handle is particularly charming (made of gilded bronze, it is finely chiseled). All the boxes are present, and apart from signs of wear that have damaged the leather surface at the bottom of the boxes (see photo), they are in excellent condition, even at the fold of the front, which is quite rare. A very beautiful piece, still perfectly suited to our modern papers, thus usable as is. H: 154 cm. W: 57 cm. D: 39 cm. Interior of a box: 36 X 29 X 12 cm. The price is firm, thank you. Delivery to your doorstep in Île-de-France is possible for 40 euros.
