Sacred ex-voto in solid silver – heart engraved “Reconnaissance” – interior do

This elegant heart-shaped ex-voto dates from the second half of the 19th century. Made of solid silver (Minerva hallmark visible) with a fire-gilded interior, it is decorated with the engraved inscription “Reconnaissance”, the AM (Ave Maria) emblem, and surmounted by a flame symbolizing divine love. These devotional objects were offered to the Virgin Mary in thanks for a granted wish or a healing, often in sanctuaries such as Lourdes. The whole presents superb floral chasing work and a beautiful patina.
