Mid-Century Teak Extending Dining Table from G-Plan, United Kingdom, 1960s

This extending dining table was manufactured by the renowned British furniture maker G-Plan during the 1960s. The piece represents the Mid-Century Modern design characteristic of the period, combining a clean, elegant form with practical functionality. The table is crafted from teak wood. The rounded corners of the tabletop and slender, subtly sculpted legs give the piece a sense of visual lightness and harmonious proportions. The table features an extension mechanism that allows the dining surface to be quickly and easily increased. When closed, the table measures 112 cm in length, extending to 158 cm when fully opened. The table has undergone comprehensive woodworking restoration. The wooden elements were stripped of the old coating, stained in an oak colour, and finished with a durable high-quality semi-matt lacquer, which protects the surface while enhancing the natural grain of the teak.
