Tripod stool in carved wood, Senoufo art

Traditional Sénoufo stool, hand-carved from a single block of wood. Round seat slightly concave with a beautiful deep patina, resting on three tapered solid legs. A personal object in the Sénoufo tradition, marking the social rank of its owner, passed down from generation to generation. Sénoufo cultural area (northern Côte d'Ivoire, southern Mali and Burkina Faso). Old crack on the seat, a sign of use and authenticity, which does not affect the sturdiness of the piece. Good vintage condition.
