🏛️ Once upon a time, in 1737… These two tiebacks may have watched over the curtains of a bourgeois salon, a provincial manor, or a noble residence. Today, they seek a new home to continue their story. Shaped in a Rococo / Louis XV style characteristic of 18th-century France, they elegantly display their scrolls, acanthus leaves, and finely moulded pine cones. On the reverse, a mysterious inscription: AB 1737 — a workshop mark or date of manufacture, it does not reveal all its secrets. ✦ What you will receive ✦ A pair of antique curtain tiebacks including: Two richly crafted gilded ornamental heads. Two curved metal arms with patina and leaf-shaped ends. Integrated wall mounting system. Dimensions: ~20 cm long × ~15 cm high. Condition: Natural patina and oxidation, partially worn gilding on the arms — all the beauty of time passing. Sold as is, without restoration. ✦ Perfect for ✦ Baroque, classical, or curiosity cabinet interior decoration. Restoration of an old residence. Collectors of period hardware and ironwork. Careful and secure shipping. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
