Imposing bust of Hermes, the messenger of the gods, in Venetian stucco (lime + plaster), waxed, copy of an element of the sculpture of Praxiteles, discovered in 1877, and dating from 343 BC. Preserved in its original form at the beginning of the 20th century, it transports with its moving face, which looks at a child in his arms to whom he gives a bunch of grapes. Very beautiful patina of an old piece. Origin: Galleria Romanelli in Florence (Italy).
