Ancient library in the style of Samuel Pepys 1666 Victorian.

We are delighted to offer for sale this highly collectible, restored antique library, Victorian circa 1860-1880, made of pine and oak. It is a large library based on the original design by Samuel Pepys from 1666, which is part of a larger suite. This library is an example from the mid-19th century, handcrafted by a master craftsman, with each piece of wood having been manually shaped. It has been restored with deep cleaning, hand waxing, and polishing. There are signs of age-related patina and use. The shelves and glass appear to be original. A custom extension has been added to the back to bypass a radiator and skirting board, which can be removed by the new owner. Dimensions: Height 285.5 cm, Width 165.5 cm at the top, 141 cm at the base, Depth 59 cm at the top (with extension), 38 cm at the bottom. This piece is an investment and an important antique that can easily accommodate numerous personal libraries.
