ARMAND Henry. Pair of natural wood chairs moulded and carved with flowers and acanthus leaves resting on four curved legs linked by an X-stretcher. Strap to be replaced on a seat. Regency period, 18th century. Stamped Henry Armand and JME Henry Armand settled in rue de Lappe and then rue de la Roquette, where he lived for about twenty years. The few known works marked with his stamp show good quality craftsmanship. Notable pieces include a lady's writing desk inlaid with mosaic cubes, a Louis XVI trictrac in mahogany, and a Louis XVI secretary in rosewood. Dimensions. Total height 95 cm. Seat height 44 cm.
